How Do You Celebrate Your Loved Ones?

Have you ever wanted to hold onto someone’s memory in a way that felt real—something you could see, touch, and carry with you?

Everyone grieves differently, but many of us share a common desire: to keep our loved ones close.
For me, jewelry became more than something pretty, it became a way to connect with the people I miss, especially my mom.
In this post, I want to share how loss, creativity, and purpose came together to help me celebrate her and eventually help others do the same.

When my mom passed away in 2006, I was searching for a way to process my grief—something that was mine, something we didn’t share.

Jewelry became that outlet. I started with gemstones, and it surprised me how much their healing properties helped me move through my loss.

My mom loved beautiful things. As I designed with gemstones, I’d often pause and ask myself, “Would she like this?” If the answer was yes, I followed through. It felt like she was still guiding me, and I could feel her energy with me in the studio.

Later, when I began working with metal clay, I still didn’t quite know my deeper reason for making jewelry. But I knew one thing:
I wanted people to feel something when they wore it. I didn’t want it to be “just jewelry.” I wanted it to be meaningful.

That search for meaning led me to explore jewelry with words, pieces that carried messages, mantras, or names. But I quickly hit a roadblock: I couldn’t find stamps small enough for what I envisioned.

So I started making my own stamps.

Then one simple question changed everything.

I casually asked my husband, “What do you think about adding names to the jewelry too?”
He paused and said, “I have a signature of your mom’s up in the cupboard.”

I tried it and that’s when it all clicked.

That was the very first Signature Tag I ever made. And from that moment, I knew why I was here.

Now I wear my mom’s and dad’s signatures around my neck every day. It brings me comfort, strength, and a deep sense of connection.

It’s more than jewelry.
It’s celebration.
It’s healing.
It’s inspiration.

And I’m so thankful to my mom for leading me to the very purpose I didn’t even know I was looking for.
